Spyro's little best friend. He is a young dragon who is more shy and reserved than his older, lawful and serious counterpart. Although he is a meek and timid dragon, Flame has shown plenty of times to be brave.

Intergenerational Friendship: All of his friends are fairly older than him.

Ironic Name: He is called Flame, yet his strength lies more in his flight and wind abilities.

Kid-Appeal Character: Very much so since he's a child himself.

The Lancer: He is this to Spyro later in the series.

Lovable Nerd: He may be nerdy compared to Spyro, but he is adorable as well.

Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: The Feminine Boy to Ember's Masculine Girl.

Meaningful Name: Much like Spyro and Ember, Flame's name fits the fire theme.

Nice Guy: One of the friendliest, kindest, and mild-mannered of the entire cast.

The Pollyanna: Has a very optimistic and positive attitude to everything, for the most part.

Punny Name: Flame's name is a variation of fire, and his scale colour is red, just like a flame.

Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: The Sensitive Guy to Spyro's Manly Man.

Sidekick: To Spyro
- Kid Sidekick: Being twice as young as Spyro.

Shock and Awe: Another element he has the ability to use.

The Smart Guy: Is more rational and analytical than his peers.

Walking the Earth: He has been doing with Spyro since Shadow Legacy.

Weak, but Skilled: While he may not be as strong as Spyro, he still has strengths and abilities of his own.

Why Did It Have To Be Snakes?: He is particularly afraid of the dark.

Wise Beyond His Years: Although Flame is considerably younger than Spyro, he is much more responsible for a dragon his age.
